Robust Rotary Vane Pumps for Liquid CO₂ Applications

BLACKMER CRL-Serie – rotary vane pumps

Due to the specific requirements of leading CO₂ suppliers for a more durable pump capable of handling higher operating pressures in liquid CO₂ service, Blackmer developed the CRL series to meet or exceed supplier specifications. The pumps are designed for maximum performance and reliability, even under extreme operating conditions.

BLACKMER CRLR1.25, CRL1.25 & CRL1.5

BLACKMER CRL Series Rotary Vane Pumps – Cavitation Line

These pumps are part of the Cavitation Line and provide flow rates from 5 to 22 US gpm (19 to 83 L/min). They are particularly suitable for recirculation systems and small-volume transfer applications.

The BLACKMER CRL models are designed for foot mounting on a common baseplate.

BLACKMER CRL High-Speed – Rotary Vane Pumps

High-speed ductile iron rotary vane pumps for liquid CO₂ applications.

The CRL High-Speed rotary vane pumps, part of the Cavitation Line, are durable, motor-driven pumps with flow rates of 5 to 22 US gpm (19–83 L/min). They are ideal for recirculation systems and small-volume transfer applications. The CRL models are designed for foot mounting on a shared baseplate.

Technical Features

  • Connection options: 1.25- or 1.5-inch NPT female threads
  • Equipment: internal safety valve, replaceable housing liner and end plates for easy overhaul of the pumping chamber
  • CRLR 1.25 model: special liner for lower flow rates than the CRL 1.25 pump
  • Materials: silicon carbide mechanical seals, laminated vanes
  • Maximum differential pressure:

CRLR 1.25: 70 psi (4.83 bar)

CRL 1.25 and CRL 1.5: 100 psi (6.89 bar)

Delivery and Mounting

  • Pumps can be delivered as fully assembled units, with or without a motor.
  • For dimensions of the mounted pump units, see the catalog datasheets.

Fully Integrated Unit Assemblies

Blackmer offers preconfigured, prefabricated complete systems as ready-to-use pump solutions.

These units include:

  • Motor
  • Gearbox
  • Baseplate
  • Coupling guards
  • CRL 1.5-inch rotary vane pump

Thanks to these preconfigured units, no alignment is required – the pump solution can be installed directly.

BLACKMER CRL2, CRL3 & CRL4

BLACKMER CRL 2–4 Inch Rotary Vane Pumps – Ductile Iron Pumps for Bulk Liquid CO₂ Transfer

The BLACKMER CRL pumps in 2, 3, and 4-inch sizes, part of the Cavitation Line, are widely used for robust bulk transfer and recirculation applications, such as:

  • Industrial facilities
  • Food processing systems
  • Refrigeration systems
  • Process plants
  • Loading and unloading of transport vehicles

Technical Data

  • Flow rate: 25 to 300 US gpm (95–1,134 L/min)
  • Drive shaft: double-sided configuration for flexible positioning (clockwise or counterclockwise rotation)
  • Equipment: internal safety valve, replaceable housing liner and end plates for easy overhaul of the pumping chamber
  • Cavitation suppression: special liners reduce noise, vibration, and wear
  • Materials: silicon carbide mechanical seals, laminated vanes
  • Connections: NPT female-threaded flanges or welded flanges (see flange overview)
  • Maximum differential pressure: 100 psi (6.89 bar) for all models

Delivery and Mounting Options

  • Standard units: baseplate-mounted with worm gearbox or V-belt drive
  • Assembled units: available from the factory, with or without a motor
  • Alternative drives: PTO, hydraulic motor, or combustion engine
  • Dimensions: see catalog datasheets
